Pasay Mayor Calixto all out war sa illegal drugs at gambling den

“Illegal drugs has become one of Pasay’s biggest problems. This has become a big threat not only to the security of our constituents but also to our economic progess,” wika pa ni Mayor CALIXTO.

“The presence of the PDEA detachment in Pasay City makes a lot of difference. Drug trafficking will become increasingly wary of their activities and sooner or later, they will leave the city and shift their business somewhere,” dagdag pa ni Mayor CALIXTO.

HON. IMELDA "EMI" CALIXTO-RUBIANO CONGRESSWOMAN

"Emi", as she fondly called by her constituents, is the No. 1 Councilor in the seventh council. She started her public service at a very young age. Politics is no stranger to her being raised and grew up in a political atmosphere, her father the former Mayor of Pasay City, Mayor "Duay" Calixto" and brother Vice Mayor Tony Calixto. She is a dedicated public servant since 1998. As Councilor of Pasay City, Distrcict II, she spearheads various projects such as free medical and dental services, "Murang Serbisyo sa Namatay", Operation Cataract, Botika Binhi, Operation Smile, Feeding Programs, Livelihood and Capital assistance, Scholarship Grant to deserving students and other infrastructure projects. She was formerly the Head of Pasay City Social Welfare Department which during her leadership earned several recognitions and exemplary awards for providing assistance to Pasay City residents.

Mayor Calixto sees P-Noy uniting the Philippines

Pasay City Mayor-elect Antonino “Tony” G. Calixto said yesterday he foresees that President-elect Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” C. Aquino III is the kind of national leader who can ‘unite’ the country.

“I could personally glean from his speeches, his talks with leaders and even his millions of supporters and constituents his sincerity, strongly augmented by his body language. He is a man of credibility, logic and well-meaning reasons,” said Mayor Calixto, who ran under the banner of Liberal Party (LP), together with his younger sister, Imelda “Emi” G. Calixto-Rubiano, who also won in the city’s lone congressional district.

Mayor Calixto stressed that he (Aquino) is a leader, who I could say, is well attuned to social engineering, which he may have inherited from his mother, President Cory – that is getting the maximum of wants with the least friction.

“He said that his gesture of the incoming president alone proves that he is for transparency and clarity, an innate “quality of the man” that he does not want to leave queries unanswered, unlike some other high officials who prefer to avoid issues than answering them squarely.

Tomorrow, “We do not see only President-elect Noynoy and Vice President-elect Jojo in their inauguration. We see the world, as some heads of State and their delegates will be at the Luneta to witness the 15th President of the Republic sworn in,” said Calixto.

Mayor Calixto and Congresswoman Rubiano were also set to take their oath as the duly elected mayor and representative.

Tomorrow at the St. Therese Shrine in Villamor, Pasay City Judge Pedro Corales of Pasay City Regional Trial Court will swear them in, with the Holy Bible to be held by the father of Mayor Calixto and Congresswoman Rubiano – the former Pasay City Mayor Eduardo Martin Calixto – after holy mass to be officiated. By Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak, the shrine rector and military bishop.

The members of Calixto and Rubiano families, heads and members of various associations, supporters, including Calixto’s top political adviser Jorge Del Rosario and wife Trisha, Bong Serrano, Noel “Boyet” Del Rosario, Dennis Aguas, Iris Ostrea, incumbent councilor Moti Arceo, Deanna Malicse, barangay chairmen Logro, Torres, Pilar, Arguelles, Samia and Diones will all be in attendance.

Mrs. Edna A. Calixto, wife of the elected city mayor and son Mark Anthony Calixto, together with the Rubianos will lead in welcoming guests and well-wishers.

Calixto siblings took oath as Mayor and Congreswoman

Change is an essential aspect of our earthly evolutionary dynamisms. It marks the end as to allow the coming of new beginnings which will offer more possibilities for progress and success to all. The current socio-political situation of our country depicts how change transforms every individual and society beyond. Numerous people from different non-government organization trooped their groups to rally towards the different streets of the metro – wearing their conviction and love for country to bring out in the public their increasing discontent to the current social situation, where poverty grips forth one third of the total population that prolong peoples’ agony and results to the advent of new sets of societal ills which will aggravate the current situation of our poor people, arming themselves with placards, tarpaulins and caricature not only to criticize the Public Officials but to as well as allow the chance to have a public dialogue to effectively address the problems.

Pasayeños long wait for CHANGE is finally over. Newly elected Mayor Antonino Gallardo Calixto, fathering three children – Mark Anthony, Derreck and Charlene, married to Mrs. Edna Dayrit Aguas and have served the public as city councilor for six years and city vice mayor for three consecutive terms, was sworn into public office last June 30, 2010, Wednesday, before Honorable Judge Pedro Corales of Pasay City Regional Trial Court at St. Therese Shrine in front of NAIA 3, Villamor, Pasay City with his younger sister Congresswoman elect Emi Calixto – Rubiano and councilors elect Richard Advincula, Ed Advincula, Rey Padua and Ian Vendivel. He is the son of the former Mayor Eduardo “Duay” Martin Calixto and Mrs. Leonora “Orang” Escribe Gallardo.

Thousands of Pasayeños together with the City Governments’ Department Heads, employees and members of the press went out of their way to witness and show their support to the Calixto siblings whose victory was already considered as one of the most celebrated phenomenon in the history of Pasay. Meanwhile, Bishop Tumulak , St. Therese’s shrine director and military bishop officiated the inaugural mass.

In his inaugural speech Mayor Calixto extended his heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support, love and trust that he and his sibling, Congresswoman Calixto, have received from their family, friends and especially to the people of Pasay and shares the said victory to all. Promises have never been the theme of his speech. Instead, he reiterated his vision for Pasay, his plans that will nurture Pasayeños health, and his doable projects that will not only provide a living to people through improve tourism and education but will also gradually uplift its peoples’ dignity and moral standards. Indeed, the inauguration has just mark the beginning of great things that will gradually unfold in the city of Pasay.
